Requirements to study Master of engineering of Technical Management

• A Bachelor degree in Engineering, or an equivalent or higher qualification with a minimum of 3.5 years of study (210 ECTS) in a technical domain like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering Chemical Engineering, Information Science, etc. For applicants with a Bachelor degree with 3 years of study (180 ECTS) in a technical domain, a single case decision is possible.

• A qualified Bachelor’s degree, which requires that the previous course of study has been completed with a grade of at least 2.5. If the course of study has not yet been completed at the time of application, it is required that 90 % of the total achievements required have been successfully accomplished (i.e. that at least 189 Credit Points have been earned), and that the average grade calculated from exam results is at least 2.5.

• Certified Good English language proficiency see below for min. scores in accepted tests:

• Knowledge of the German language is not compulsory but will result in extra credits in the ranking procedure.

• Post graduate work experience is not compulsory but will result in additional credits in the ranking procedure.

Application Procedure (Documents to prepare for your application)

• Download the application form (available online as a downloadable pdf). Complete the first page of the form on screen and then print out both pages.


• Attach an ID picture (name/date of birth on the backside) to first page of the printed form.


• Add the following papers to your application:

Compulsory:

• Current resume which includes work-experience,  educational background and language qualifications.
• Statement of goals and objectives (one page max.!). Tell us where you see your future.
• All previous university degree certificate(s).
• Transcripts with titles and grades of all courses attended.
• Last school-certificate (which entitles you for studying).
• APS-certificate (only compulsory for applicants from P. R. China).
• Certificate of proficiency in English language, e. g. TOEFL, IELTS, CPE. (Only to be omitted if your mother tongue is English.)

Non-Compulsory:

• Certificate of proficiency in German language (if applicable).
• Testimonials from companies for jobs after graduating from university (if applicable).

• All copies of original documents and their translated transcripts must be authenticated. (This could be done by the registrar at your university, the German Embassy, German Consulate or German Diplomatic Representation in your country, a notary or other public administration offices.)

• Don't attach recommendation letters or training certificates to your application.

• If you are in the middle of finishing your final project, you are welcome to apply without a bachelors degree certificate. Attach a certification from your university including the date when you get your degree. You definitely need to present your final degree certificate upon enrolm.

• Include ALL documents as separate sheets in ONE large envelope.
  Do not send folders or separate envelopes.

• Your application must reach us before the deadline.
  Our deadlines are:
  Winter: 15. July for EU citizen (30. Apr. for non EU citizen)
  Summer: 15. Jan. for EU citizen (30. Sep. for non EU citizen)

Procedure after your documents have reached us

• You will get a confirmation notice a few days after your application papers reached us.
• If the number of applications exceeds the number of places available for the next semester, the applications will be ranked according to performance criteria.
  A performance-comparison will be done after the application period. The top-ranked applicants will get admission.
• Within 4 weeks after the application deadline you will be informed automatically regarding your status of admission.
• Admitted students will be asked to accept their admittance.
• Due to administration procedures and effort, we can not disclose the different reasons for rejecting an application.
• No documents are returned.
