The tuition fee charged for the course of study is 725 EUR per semester from winter term 2006. (It includes the general tuition fee of 500 EUR, by the Federal State of Lower Saxony.)

The service contribution fee of about 232 EUR per semester is charged for studying at the FH Emden/Leer (more information).

It included the so-called "Semester Ticket", which entitles students to free-of-charge use of local public transport in Emden and vicinity and for train-riding to Hamburg, Hannover and Oldenburg for one semester (six months) (more information here).

This sums up to a total fee per semester of ca. 968,23 EUR.

This amount has to be payed before the start of each semester.

The costs of living in Emden are less than in other German cities, but very often higher than in your home country.

Upon arival in Emden you need approximatley 100 - 150 EUR during the first three days to settle down.
